I designed this piece to match my headband style hairpiece - but it would really go with any of them. The belt and tassels are made of a super bulky yarn that comes in 9 different color combinations (picture below shows available colors.) Fringe can be made in your choice of complementing or contrasting colors, if you choose a contrasting color, I will also use a bit of complementing color to tie it in with the belt.
In the fringe, I use 3 different kinds of yarn. Usually two are eyelash or fancy yarns and one is a puffy yarn for bulk. The puffy yarn only comes in more common colors like black, white, burgundy, red, light blue, and a few others. If you don't specify one of those colors in the mix, I will usually use black. The black tends to set off other colors to the best advantage, and most of our tribal costumes have some black in them. If you absolutely do not want any black puffy yarn in there, make a note under "Special Instructions" and be sure to include one of those colors in your mix.
I can use gold beads instead of silver if you prefer - please include a note under "special instructions" if you'd prefer gold. I will make the length exactly to your measurements, and I shape it with a bit of a curve so it fits the contours of your hips. For the "abdomen" measurement requested below, measure around your hips at the point where you prefer to wear waistbands of skirts or pants. I charge by how many diamonds I have to weave, so if you are smaller your belt will be less expensive! A small belt has 5 diamonds with 5 tassels and 4 fringe pieces, a medium belt 6 diamonds with 6 tassels and 5 fringe pieces, and a large belt has 7 diamonds with 7 tassels and 6 fringe pieces.
If you aren't familiar with macrame, it's basically a form or weaving that involves tieing a bunch of fancy patterned knots! Thus this is a very sturdy and durable piece. On me (I am a long-legged 5'6") the 14" fringe is knee length, the 22" fringe is mid-calf length, and the 30" fringe is just above ankle length.
