Make it stay! Instructions for wearing Headdresses, etc.
Headband - Clips/Mini's - Cascade - Tribal Head Jewelry - Hairsticks
Above are jumplinks to basic instructions for wearing each of my hair things. The images below also link to instructions to duplicate this hair style with your hair!
Flower hair clips with double buns.
Pair of flower mini's with bun.
Flower mini and yarn hair falls.
Headband
Attach cowrie braids, if you have them, to headband.
Grasp headband by ends and slide behind your ears
Push back into place.
I always forget to put on my cowrie braids. You can add them once the headband is on; it's just a bit more difficult.
Tadaa!
Following are wearing instructions with bangs. If there is a portion of your hair you'd rather have hanging in front of the headband, use these.
Attach cowrie braids, if you have them.
Separate bangs or portion of your hair you want to hang in front of the headband, and secure it with a barrette or clip.
Put on headband, being careful not to catch the hair you've clamped in front.
Push headband back into place.
Tadaa!

If you have extremely fine hair and like to fling it a lot, you may want to put it in, then hairspray over the cowrie-decorated part, or possibly add a few dabs of gel to the top of your head before putting it in.
Clips/Mini's
Since clips and mini's are both constructed with alligator clips, methods of wearing them are pretty much the same. Below are examples of how to - and how not to - attach these clips to your hair.
Never attach clip to hair that is hanging free.
I wouldn't recommend attaching clip to part of a bun either.
Basically, do not attach the clip anywhere that it can be easily pulled out!
Attaching it to the elastic or the tie holding your headband on works great!
You can also securely attach it to your hair where it is tight to your head and held by a pony tail holder and bun.
If you are wearing only clips in your hair, first put your hair in ponytails, then clip the clips thru the ponytail holders as shown above.
This pic shows clips worn alone. I left a bit of my hair out of the ponytail holder to hang in front.
In this pic, I am wearing my clips clipped to the sides of my tribal head jewelry. As you can see, this style is super simple, and super cute!
Under Construction - step by step pictures coming soon!
Step 1: Put half of your hair into a ponytail at the nape of your neck.
Step 2: Attach the jewelry piece to the loops on the Cascading hairpiece, tighten the hooks if necessary, and flip it over the top of the flowers to get it out of the way.
Step 3: If you have very fine hair, you may want to put some gel in it before putting on the cascading headdress.
Step 4: Place the comb in your hair. The comb needs to be enough above your pony tail holder so that the yarn lays flat over the top of it (otherwise the pony tail holder might try to peek thru).
Step 4: Flip the jewelry back over the front of your head.
Tribal Head Jewelry
Fasten the tribal head jewelry around your neck underneath your hair.
Push it up over your ears, bringing it to rest right at your part line.
Tadaa!
This way is a bit more difficult to do - but looks really cool - kind of Amazonian!
Start by sectioning off the top third or so of your hair. Coil into a bun and use a clip or hairstick to keep it in place.
Fasten the tribal head jewelry around your head on or slightly beneath the part you've made.
Looks funny now doesn't it? Let down the top part of your hair to cover the strap.
Tadaa!

Hair Sticks
Putting in hairsticks is pretty simple, but there is a motion to follow to be sure they stay. Angle them down toward your scalp, pass them underneath the pony tail holder inside your bun, and back up thru the other side of the bun. After you have put in the hairsticks, I highly recommend securing your bun further with bobby pins. Hairsticks hold hair great for day to day activities - but dancing has ways of ruining perfect do's!
Flower Hair Clips with double buns
This style requires - one pair flower hair clips, one pair black swirl hairsticks, one pair black tattoo hairsticks, one pair cowrie braids, and one tribal head jewelry.
Attach cowrie braids to flower hair clips. Set aside, and fasten tribal head jewelry around your neck.
If desired, separate a portion of your hair and clip to secure temporarily.
Push tribal head jewelry up and back into place.
Put half of the front part of your hair into a pony tail.
Repeat for the other side. Some of your hair will be left hanging in back.
Coil both pony tails into buns and secure with hairsticks, then bobby pins.
Clip clips below your buns. You may want to experiment with where to put your buns - what looks best will depend on the shape of your face!
As you can see, this style looks interesting from the back as well as the front.
Flower Mini's or clips with single bun
This style requires - one pair flower minis (or one pair flower hair clips and one pair cowrie braids), one pair silver swirl hairsticks, one pair silver turtle hairsticks, and one tribal head jewelry.
If you are wearing flower hair clips, attach cowrie braids to them. If you are wearing mini's, skip this step.
Fasten tribal head jewelry around your neck. If desired, separate a portion of your hair and clip to secure temporarily.
Push tribal head jewelry up and back into place.
Put a portion of your hair into a pony tail. How much to leave hanging in back is up to your discretion.
Coil hair into a bun and secure with hairsticks, then bobby pins.
Clip mini's, or clips to your hair where it is tight against your head (don't clip to hanging hair!)
Here's the look with mini's. I think the mini's make it more cute.
And here's the look with flower hair clips, in my opinion, more sexy! Depends on which look you are going for. ;-)
Flower mini and yarn hair falls
This style requires - one flower mini, one super thick yarn hair fall, one pair each silver swirl and silver turtle hairsticks, and one tribal head jewelry.
Fasten tribal head jewelry around your neck.
If desired, separate a portion of your hair and clip to secure temporarily.
Push tribal head jewelry up and back into place.
Put the upper half of your hair into a pony tail. Alternately, if you want only yarn hanging (or if your hair is significantly shorter than the falls) put it all into a pony tail.
Wrap the yarn falls elastic around your hair. Yarn should lay underneath your hair.
Coil hair into a bun and secure with hairsticks, then bobby pins.
Clip the flowers to the yarn in your fall just beneath your bun. I found this way to be extremely secure.
Back view. I did this one assymetrically - I put all the hairsticks in a fan shape on one side, and clipped the flowers to the opposite side.
